Root Canal and Restorative Treatments

Root canal treatment (endodontics) treats the inner part of the tooth: the pulp and root canals. When the pulp is inflamed or infected, this treatment can save the tooth and relieve pain.
When root canal is needed
- Deep decay that has reached the pulp.
- Cracked or traumatised teeth with pulp damage.
- Repeated infections or abscesses in a previously treated tooth.
- Severe discolouration or other signs of pulp involvement.
Treatment steps
- Examination and X-rays to assess the tooth and roots.
- Local anaesthesia and isolation of the tooth.
- Removal of infected pulp and cleaning of the root canals.
- Filling and sealing of the canals, then final restoration.
